Good afternoon, families.
Today your child is bringing home a note to explain how to log-in to Raz-Kids. Raz-Kids is an online reading program that is being funded this year through monies won via a Shutterfly competition last year. We are fortunate to have access to it.
I have assigned your child a reading level and when they log-in they will be able to read any books at their reading level. The reading levels have been approximated at this point, so if you believe your child’s level is too easy or too difficult, please let me know. I am reading one-on-one with the kids each day, so I will be changing their reading levels on Raz-Kids as I see reflected in their time spent reading with me. Research shows that more gains are made in reading when a child spends the majority of their reading time with “just right books.”
This is NOT mandatory homework but rather a unique opportunity for your child to select from many ebooks at their “just right” reading level. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Happy Reading!
