Announcements:
“FIRST GRADE” Countdown: I sent home a notice last Friday, but just in case you did not see it yet,
our FIRST GRADE countdown (counting down the last 10 days of school) will begin this week. Thursday, June 5th, is F, for "Favorite Lunch Day". The weather looks good, so please pack a sack lunch for your son/daughter and we will plan to eat together outdoors. Friday is I for "Ice Cream Day". I will provide ice cream and popsicles in the afternoon to celebrate all of our hard work.
Permission Form for Centennial Park: Please sign and return the permission slip for Centennial Park.
First grade students will be walking over to Centennial Park for an end-of-the-year field trip the afternoon of Tuesday, June 17th .
Reading Calendars: Thank you for turning in your May reading calendars.
June reading calendars will be coming home tomorrow.
Learning This Week:
Spelling: We are finished with our spelling words for the year. We will be reviewing our sight words over the next couple of weeks.
Math: We will continue with Topic 14, Using Data to Answer Questions.
Writing: We will continue to discuss and write letters of persuasion.
Reading/Daily 5: Students will “read to self”, “read to someone”, “listen to read”, “word work” or“write”
each morning.
Socials: We will finish Chapter 12, How Do Families Change?
Homework:
Reading: Please read for 15-20 min. each night and record your child's minutes on their June Reading Calendar.
Math: This week we will cover lessons 14-3, 14-4, 14-5, and 14-6
Write and Share: There is no write and share this week.
